TIPS
Tapping Block Method
Place a tapping block on top of the joint and strike it gently with a mallet to distribute pressure evenly. This helps the planks lock properly and prevents gaps along the joints. Always ensure the locking strip is correctly aligned before tapping.
Firm Mallet Taps
Use a rubber mallet to apply firm, controlled taps directly on the joint to engage the 2G locking system. Always strike from back to front to fully close the locking strip.
Avoid hitting the sides, as this can damage the locking system and create gaps.
Dismantling 2G Planks
To safely remove the planks, start by lifting and removing the entire row. Then separate each plank by lifting at the joints one by one. This method helps prevent damage to the locking system.
Additional Foam Underlayment Impact
Soft foam underlayments may cause movement when walked on, which can loosen or open the joints over time. Do not install over a second underpad or any soft, compressible surface; doing so will cause excessive deflection and damage to the planks.
